We’re committed to the integration of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) principles into our strategic priorities, daily operations and partnerships.

1

Environment

Through targeted projects and awareness raising we have continuously lowered the CO2 footprint of our operations. Since 2023, our own solar plant in Kranj, Slovenia, accounts for approximately 20% of energy needs. Reducing energy consumption, material use and waste outputs reflect Iskraemeco’s dedication to circularity whilst producing quality products with a long life cycle and durability. Around 10% of our meters components are recycled, with a potential of 30% of the meter coming from recycled materials. More than 90% of our waste is sent for recycling and the hazardous waste is appropriately managed by authorized collectors.

2

Social

Iskraemeco’s social initiatives focus on fostering a positive impact on employees and the local community while acting responsibly in our business relationships throughout the value chain. We place a high value on ethical and fair relationships with suppliers, ensuring transparency and integrity. Engaging in knowledge exchange and actively collaborating with local organizations, universities, and the community is exemplified by the implementation of the Green Penguin project that enhances digital competencies and environmental literacy of pupils. With almost 50% of the workforce being female, we pride ourselves in our commitment to diversity and inclusion.

3

Governance

Ethical governance and transparency are fundamental to our operations. Iskraemeco sustainability steering committee, comprising department heads and sustainability ambassadors, underscores the importance of incorporating diverse perspectives in decision-making. Our business relationships are regulated by the strict policies on anti-corruption and whistleblowing, as well as the authority matrix. Regular mandatory business ethics and compliance training for all employees further underscore our commitment to fair business conduct.

Our ESG progress

Embedding ESG into the core strategy of our business is essential for advancing innovation and ensuring long-term value creation.

Transparent reporting of environmental performance of our products through Environmental Product Declaration (EPD)

At Iskraemeco, we leverage cutting-edge technology and innovative solutions to enable efficient energy and water management, ultimately contributing to the development of smart, resilient cities. By empowering end-users with the data they need to optimize consumption and forecast demand, we help build a sustainable future. This is why it’s important for us to deliver the highest quality of products, which are responsibly produced and have minimum environmental impact. This commitment is evident from our environmental product declarations (EPD).

An EPD provides objective, comparable, and third-party verified data based on a comprehensive Life Cycle Assessment (LCA). This assessment covers our products’ environmental impact throughout their entire life cycle, including our entire value chain. By presenting outcomes through various environmental indicators such as carbon dioxide emissions and Global Warming Potential, we aim to disclose both positive and negative aspects of our products. Our goal is to extend this effort to encompass all our products in the future, reflecting our dedication to sustainability and environmental responsibility.

EU Green Deal initiative and Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive

Iskraemeco has joined the initiative calling on EU leaders to back the ambition set out in the European Green Deal and reduce greenhouse gas emissions by at least 55% by 2030. More than 150 business leaders and investors urged EU heads of state to set higher 2030 emissions reduction targets.

We’re committed to reporting under the new EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and will submit our first report in 2026. We welcome this regulation as it will significantly enhance the transparency and comparability of ESG data, allowing stakeholders to better understand our sustainability performance. This directive aligns with our values of accountability and openness, ensuring our actions and impacts are clearly communicated.
