Students at Hinko Smrekar Primary School had the opportunity to learn about the Green Penguin and his actions through an interview. The main purpose was to familiarize them with the project, the upcoming application, and the importance of reducing carbon emissions, saving energy, and implementing sustainable practices.

During the interview, Green Penguin shared its vision to educate children about reducing carbon emissions and adopting sustainable practices, all in a user-friendly and engaging way. In the coming fall, the students will be among the first to use the Green Penguin application, which incorporates innovative digital technologies and interactive games. These interactive games and challenges will allow them to explore the impact of their energy use and discover practical ways to make a positive difference.

The visit served as a way to encourage and empower students to adopt sustainable practices and become ambassadors of change in their school and community. Hinko Smrekar Primary School is a shining example of how the Green Penguin Project is shaping a greener and more inclusive Europe. The Green Penguin Project continues to make strides in sustainable education, and the visit to Hinko Smrekar Primary School served as proof to the project’s potential to effect positive change.

Today, the Green Penguin project is being implemented by a consortium of organizations, namely: Iskraemeco, d.d., the City of Kranj, the City of Ljubljana, the Association DOVES-FEE Slovenia and FEE Norway who are implementing the international Eco-Schools programme. The project is co-financed by the Norwegian Financial Mechanism and Ministry of Cohesion and Regional Development. The Norwegian Financial Mechanism stands for Norway’s contribution to a green, competitive and inclusive Europe.
