Iskraemeco is one of consortium partners in the PHOENIX project “is a European Union funded collaborative project improving the cyber security of the European electrical power energy systems (EPES), i.e. the so called Smart Grid. PHOENIX aims to offer a cyber-shield armour to European EPES infrastructure enabling cooperative detection of large scale, cyber-human security and privacy incidents and attacks, guarantee the continuity of operations and minimize cascading effects in the infrastructure itself, the environment, the citizens and the end-users at reasonable cost.” (Source: PHOENIX)
This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 832989.
Iskraemeco considers PHOENIX as an opportunity to strengthen its expertise in cybersecurity and apply the blockchain and 5G concepts to the smart metering segment. Iskraemeco’s smart meters are already deployed in many countries worldwide and integration of blockchain and 5G interfaces should be at TRL-7 or higher. The Slovenian LSP has a great potential for commercialization, as it allows tight but privacy-preserving collaboration among various stakeholders of the energy provision value chain.
The latter is in accordance with the vision for next generation smart meters, whose role in the smart grid will evolve over the lifetime and contributes to the company strategy of evolving from component manufacturer to end-to-end solutions provider.
