The team looked at the digital solutions that have been developed and the improvements they bring to our processes with Ms. Maša Ravnik and Ms. Mateja Nemanić, Ministry’s representatives. Aleš Tancer, Director of Information Technology at Iskraemeco, and Miha Kern, Head of Manufacturing and Engineering sector at Iskraemeco, presented the solutions of the digital twin of production lines, the tool for predictive forecasting of sales prices of components and other applications for visualizing various events and reports. This allowed everyone to see in practice the added value at the operational and strategic level of process management.
In the second part of the meeting, we also had a tour of the production process where we could see what the digital twin looks like in real-life and what equipment was purchased with co-financing from the project. The purchase of the new equipment was made somewhat easier for our company by the public funding, but it also represents an important source of information for further processing in various digital tools. The new automation, which includes robotic cell, an automatic pick-and-place machine for electronic components and automatic quality control equipment for the smart meter, has also enabled us to optimize the production process. These new acquisitions have reduced waiting times, improved the level of quality assurance and, last but not least, increased the productivity of our production process.
The Digital Twin for Digital Lean project is a crucial first step towards digitizing processes in many areas of the company, including production, assembly, packaging, warehousing, equipment and internal logistics, testing and quality, and purchasing. By introducing digital innovation, automation, robotics and 4IR and 5IR technologies and developing an innovation platform, we will be able to significantly improve our existing digital products and services.
