The programme brings together students, universities and industry. It highlights promising master’s theses and doctoral dissertations in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Alongside opportunities to win awards, it gives young researchers a platform to present their work and connect with companies.
At Iskraemeco, we want to meet future experts and introduce them to development opportunities in electricity, water and digital solutions. We will contribute practical experience and propose development challenges, while the selection of research projects and candidates remains independent.
“For technology-driven companies, access to outstanding expertise and connections with future professionals are directly linked to their ability to develop further. At Iskraemeco, we therefore see our role as a development partner in the STEM50 programme as an active way of connecting industry and academia.”

He further explains: “Companies can contribute a practical perspective and bring specific development challenges to the table, while candidate selection must remain independent and academic autonomy must be preserved. Through this collaboration, we want to introduce young researchers to opportunities in industry, encourage interest in technical professions and give young people the confidence to pursue careers in these fields. Our broader goal is to help create an environment in which Slovenia nurtures, develops and employs outstanding talent, enabling people to establish themselves among the world’s best in their respective fields.”
For students, STEM50 is an opportunity to present their work beyond the university and get to know companies where they could further develop their expertise.
