Iskraemeco by Elsewedy Electric, organized the first edition of the Iskraemeco Summit at the Iskraemeco factory in 10th of Ramadan City. Partners and customers from African countries took part, along with utility company leaders, government representatives, business partners, and technology experts from Egypt and European markets. The summit showcased the Group’s capabilities and Iskraemeco’s evolution from manufacturing smart meters to providing integrated solutions for managing electricity and water utilities, with a focus on Grid Intelligence.
The summit focused on Iskraemeco’s solutions and their practical applications, in line with its approach of delivering “smart solutions for a better life.” The company combines its European heritage with its industrial and technological expertise to link smart metering with digital networks, data analytics, and artificial intelligence. These solutions help identify and address technical and commercial losses, improve asset management, reduce operating costs, and limit the need to generate additional electricity to compensate for losses.
Within this framework, the first day included an introductory presentation on the business lines of Elsewedy Electric Group, its manufacturing and engineering capabilities, and its international presence. It highlighted how integrating these capabilities with Iskraemeco’s expertise supports the needs of utility companies in Egypt and Africa and opens opportunities for cooperation with partners and customers.
“We invest in Africa with a long-term vision that links infrastructure development to increased productive capacity and support for economic growth. This vision is built on partnerships with governments, utility companies, and customers, through which we deploy our manufacturing, engineering, and technological capabilities to meet the priorities of each market. The summit aims to deepen this cooperation and identify new opportunities that help raise the efficiency of utilities and meet the continent’s development needs.”
Eng. Ahmed Elsewedy

He also added: “Integrating Elsewedy Electric’s capabilities with Iskraemeco’s expertise is an opportunity to expand the role of Egyptian manufacturing in developing smart infrastructure in Africa. We focus on delivering solutions that combine manufacturing quality, technological expertise, and market knowledge, while supporting knowledge transfer and local capacity building. This creates sustainable value for our partners and strengthens the competitiveness of Egyptian industry.”
Eng. Mohamed ElSayad, CEO and Chairman of the Board of Iskraemeco, further explained:
“Grid intelligence is at the heart of the next phase of our business’s evolution. Metering provides the essential data, while software, data analytics, and artificial intelligence turn it into better operational decisions. We focus on helping electricity and water network operators understand the performance of their assets, identify where investments deliver the greatest impact, and integrate smart technologies into network design from the outset, so that networks can keep pace with future needs.”
He added: “The value of this summit lies in bringing together network operators and technology experts to discuss real operating challenges. By reviewing regional projects, live demonstrations, and innovative applications, participants can assess solutions against the needs of their networks and exchange experiences on the requirements for successful implementation. This dialogue allows us to develop solutions suited to the conditions of each market and turn shared priorities into practical steps.”
Through expert panel discussions, presentations of regional projects and applications, interactive experiences, live demonstrations, and networking sessions, the summit brought participants together to explore the needs of African markets and opportunities to develop more resilient, growth-ready utilities. It also provided a platform to explore partnerships, financing, and grants with strategic partners and financing and development institutions, supporting continued cooperation beyond the event.
