PPC, a leading company in the German market for the production of certified communication (SMGW = Smart Meter Gateway) and control devices (Steuerbox), regularly ensures that its products are interoperable with other components of smart power grids. Iskraemeco shares this objective by also verifying interoperability with other SMGW and STB manufacturers.
The award acknowledges the successful compatibility of our and their products with upstream metering, regulatory, and control systems. Positive experiences that PPC gained through testing and project implementation with our devices—especially the MT631 and MT691 meters—motivated them to launch an interoperability initiative. This initiative aims to provide end users with safe and reliable energy management at the highest level. Their and our products meet the requirements for interoperability and enable seamless integration into both existing and new control systems in the area of critical infrastructure.
By participating in the PPC-connect interoperability initiative, Iskraemeco has once again affirmed its commitment to open and collaborative innovation in the energy sector. The initiative highlights partners whose devices demonstrably operate in harmony with PPC’s technologies—thus supporting the vision of a fully connected smart grid with a strong focus on security.
“We are proud to receive this award as it underscores the technical excellence of our products and the strong partnership we have developed with PPC,” said Ivan Kern, Sales Director for Germany at Iskraemeco. “This milestone reflects our ongoing efforts to support energy utilities with interoperable and future-ready solutions for regulating and managing energy flows in a deregulated market.”
The award ceremony was also an opportunity to celebrate with industry partners and further solidified Iskraemeco’s role as a leading provider of smart metering components and digital energy transformation solutions.
Solutions at display at ZMP 2025
Alongside the PPC-connect Award, Iskraemeco is showcasing a portfolio of modular and future-proof smart metering solutions at ZMP 2025, tailored to meet evolving needs of DSOs and end-users.
Featured solutions include the MT880 iRLMSys for load management, IE.7 RC retrofit grid monitoring, commercial and industrial IE.7 meters, and the award-winning LEAN meters (MT631, MT691). These are complemented by the Symbiot software suite—with HES, MDM, FieldAssist, and Symbiot Twinner—enabling digital twin functionality and end-to-end energy management.
Together, these offerings reflect the same values of interoperability, security, and innovation recognized by the PPC-connect Award.
