The DT4DL project was designed as a response to the growing need for digital transformation in companies. As the lead consortium partner, Iskraemeco successfully implemented the project together with ADD, GL Charge, Iskra AMS, 3 Projekt, and Q-Mins. The project ran from April 2022 to March 2024, with a total value of €5,420,000, of which €1,660,000 was co-financed through European funds.
As part of the project, we introduced advanced digital technologies, including:
- Digital twin (for production and knowledge)
- Artificial intelligence for decision-making support
- Robotics and process automation
- IoT data capture
- Smart analytics and data visualization
- AR/VR and 3D printing
The visit was an opportunity to showcase tangible project results – from production line optimization and advanced quality control to the digitalization of support processes. Guests toured our production facilities, where they saw new equipment acquired through co-financing and experienced the digital twin solutions in practice.
Miha Kern, Director of Manufacturing Engineering and Production at Iskraemeco, emphasized: “The DT4DL project has significantly contributed to product development and the optimization of production processes. Improvements are evident in traceability, real-time insights, and the reduction of errors and unnecessary downtime. Moreover, the project has had a major impact on building and upgrading employees’ digital competencies.”
The event also provided a platform for discussions on sustainable business practices, digital skills development, and Iskraemeco’s vision for future growth. Visitors expressed their satisfaction with the progress and praised Iskraemeco’s strategic focus on digital innovation.
Mag. Josip Mihalic, Director of the national Recovery and Resilience Office, added: “Today we had the opportunity to see firsthand the positive impact of EU Recovery and Resilience funding. Digitalization, alongside the green transition, is at the heart of the NextGenerationEU instrument, which also supports Slovenia’s Recovery and Resilience Plan. Digital transformation of the economy and public sector is essential for long-term development and competitiveness.”
Mag. Barbara Jermol Marcinčak, Deputy Head of the Representation of the European Commission in Slovenia, highlighted: “The NextGenerationEU instrument was designed as the EU’s response to the crisis triggered by the COVID-19 pandemic, and we are pleased to see how this determination is reflected in ambitious projects in Slovenia. Such projects will strengthen Europe’s technological sovereignty, support new jobs, foster creativity and the use of cutting-edge technologies, and help maintain its position in global markets.”
The DT4DL project marks a significant milestone in Iskraemeco’s digital transformation journey. It demonstrates how combining knowledge, technology, and vision can create solutions that contribute to more efficient, sustainable, and intelligent business operations.
