What EcoVadis means and why it matters?

EcoVadis is a globally recognized sustainability assessment platform used by companies worldwide for structured and comparable evaluation of the companies they work with. The assessment is evidence‑based and evaluates how companies manage environmental, social, and ethical aspects of their operations.

The EcoVadis Platinum Medal reflects the way sustainability is embedded into Iskraemeco’s transformation and longterm strategy. It confirms that our approach is systematic, datadriven, and grounded in real actions across the company. This achievement is the result of close collaboration between teams and a shared commitment to integrating sustainability into how we operate, make decisions, and develop solutions that support our customers in the long term.

From Gold to Platinum

The Platinum Medal represents a direct upgrade from last year’s Gold recognition.

 

Measurable progress within one year

Our overall score increased from 79 to 87 out of 100, reflecting significant progress achieved within one year. Reaching the Platinum level is rare and demanding, requiring long‑term development, collaboration across multiple teams, and the consistent implementation of improvements. The most notable progress was achieved in Ethics, alongside visible improvements in Labor & Human Rights and Sustainable Procurement. Our Environmental score remained stable at a very high level.

Environment (93/100)

Reducing environmental impact and improving energy efficiency

In the environmental area, we consistently reduce the environmental impact of our operations and orient product development toward higher energy and environmental efficiency. We prepared an Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) for the IE.X product family and carried out independent external verification of Scope 1 and Scope 2 CO₂ emissions. We also calculate avoided emissions of our products, capturing their positive climate impact during the use phase.

Our environmental objectives are further supported by investments in renewable energy sources, including an additional solar power plant with battery storage, and by engaging employees in environmental activities, such as voluntary tree‑planting initiatives in the local community. We have also committed to the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), with target definition planned for 2026.

Labor & Human Rights (83/100)

Employee safety, development, and wellbeing

In the area of labor practices and human rights, we focus on creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive working environment. We continue activities under the Family‑Friendly Enterprise certification, including benefits such as free psychological counselling for employees. We also conducted a company pay‑gap analysis, strengthening transparency and equality.

A strong emphasis is placed on skills and competence development. In total, we delivered more than 34,000 hours of employee training and further enhanced succession‑planning processes. Through numerous activities for employees and the local community – including sports initiatives, cooperation with schools, and engagement with local cultural organizations – we foster belonging, well‑being, and long‑term employee development.

Ethics (89/100)

Responsible governance, compliance, and information security

In the area of ethics and compliance, we made significant progress over the past year. We initiated the ISO 37001 (anti‑corruption) certification process and conducted a gap analysis, adopted a new authority matrix, and strengthened risk management. Mandatory annual compliance and ESG training was delivered at group level for all employees.

We also pay particular attention to information security, reinforced through mandatory training and phishing‑simulation campaigns, as well as to the responsible use of new technologies, supported by internal rules on the use of AI tools. In 2025, we achieved ISO 22301 certification, further strengthening our business continuity management system.

Sustainable Procurement (85/100)

Responsible and resilient supply chain

Sustainable procurement is a key pillar of our holistic sustainability approach. We regularly conduct ESG assessments of key suppliers, both on‑site and virtually, and actively collaborate with them to improve sustainability practices. To support a secure and resilient supply chain, we obtained ISO 28000 certification, strengthening security and traceability in supply‑chain processes.

We also involve suppliers in ESG education initiatives and, in collaboration with suppliers and manufacturers, completed our first CMRT report, related to the responsible sourcing of conflict and critical minerals. These activities strengthen supply‑chain transparency and responsible production.

Many sustainability efforts don’t easily translate into numbers or scores. EcoVadis gives us a clear and credible way to show that sustainability principles are built into our processes and projects across Iskraemeco. Reaching Platinum is both a recognition of how far we’ve come and a reminder that there’s always more to build on.

Sustainability embedded in company strategy

At Iskraemeco, sustainability is understood as an integrated operating system, closely connected to company strategy and decision‑making processes. Sustainability principles are embedded in governance, compliance, environmental objectives, employee care, and responsible supplier relationships and are not treated as a separate or project‑based initiative.

Throughout the year, we implement projects to strengthen ESG practices, actively manage the EcoVadis assessment process, and ensure that all activities are supported by reliable data and appropriate documentation. This systematic approach enables continuous improvement, increased business resilience, and long‑term value creation for all stakeholders.

Reporting and transparency (CSRD & ESRS)

Reporting and transparency are also key elements of our sustainability system. In 2025, we prepared and published our first sustainability report aligned with CSRD and ESRS standards, further strengthening data transparency, traceability, and the quality of sustainability governance. The report is based on verifiable data and clearly outlines objectives, progress, and key risks, while ensuring alignment with new European sustainability‑reporting requirements.

This approach supports informed decision‑making, strengthens stakeholder trust, and confirms that sustainability at Iskraemeco is an integral part of the company’s long‑term strategy, not merely a regulatory or market requirement.

Reaching the Platinum level is an important milestone, but not the final destination. We view sustainability as a continuous process and remain committed to further strengthening our practices, closing remaining gaps, and integrating ESG principles into our business decisions.
