Eight months ago, Iskraemeco invited students from the Academy of Fine Arts and Design, Faculty of Electrical Engineering and the Faculty of Economics, all of which are part of the interdisciplinary Design Management program, to take part in the Iskraemeco Challenge and gave them an interesting task: How to create value from the data we get from our metering solutions.
During these months, they have been learning about our industry, our partners, and our end-users to gather as much knowledge as they can about smart metering solutions, technology challenges, and global and societal challenges. The Iskraemeco team, with its Innovation, Technology Design Center, Product Management and Sustainability departments, has provided the students with needed support throughout the process, including access to our equipment.
Finally, we had the opportunity to watch 4 amazing projects developed to the level of PoC from the students yesterday. We were amazed at how much time, effort, creativity and knowledge went into the projects they showcased how ambitious and ready for the future their solutions were.
At the event, their mentors, professors, the companies involved in the research, and the city of Kranj were all there, and everyone was very impressed with their presentation and their ability of argumentation.
Even though the project’s results were great, that’s not the only thing that matters. We made new connections during the project and we all grew in our knowledge and competencies.
It’s great to know that we have so many talents interested in improving the energy management system taking it to the next level of digital and green transition.
