As energy systems face increasing pressure from distributed generation and new types of loads, the IE.7 RC provides a practical retrofit solution for distribution system operators and active energy consumers, addressing the increasing complexity of modern low-voltage grids.
The IE.7 RC helps energy market participants tackle strategic and operational challenges such as voltage instability, limited grid visibility, rising peak demand, and the need for local load balancing and generation optimization.
Unlike conventional meters, the IE.7 RC integrates advanced grid functionalities into a cost-effective, non-invasive device. It also outperforms existing power quality monitoring tools—such as portable PQ analysers—which are expensive, used only in select areas, and unsuitable for harsh field conditions. These devices lack real-time insight, require manual setup, and retrieve data with delay. In contrast, the IE.7 RC delivers continuous visibility, detects issues early, and supports preventive action.
The IE.7 RC goes beyond traditional consumption metering by combining:
- Power quality monitoring compliant with EN 50160.
- Near real-time low-voltage grid visibility.
- Advanced data visualization through the Symbiot software suite, giving operators immediate insight into grid conditions for faster decision-making.
- Local energy management and device control (for PVs, EVs, heat pumps) powered by EDGE computing.
Installed with external Rogowski coils, it enables non-intrusive upgrade of existing substations.
