During the four-day event, participants had the opportunity to assess the work completed so far, engage in workshops and lectures, and network with experts from various fields. These discussions focused on the project’s core mission: developing trustworthy and green AI solutions that will pave the way for sustainable technology development across the continent.
Enfield, European Lighthouse to Manifest Trustworthy and Green AI, is a collaborative effort funded by the European Union, uniting 30 partners — including 20 research institutions and 10 industrial leaders — over the course of three years (September 2023 – August 2026). With an investment of €11.5 million, the project aims to establish a European Center of Excellence in AI research, driving innovations that prioritize ethics, sustainability, and cutting-edge technology.
The Horizon Enfield General Assembly at Eindhoven University of Technology has been a remarkable opportunity for Iskraemeco and all consortium partners to review the significant progress made so far and set a clear path for the future. Over the past four days, we’ve engaged in meaningful discussions, attended insightful lectures, and collaborated in workshops that have strengthened our shared vision for advancing trustworthy and sustainable AI across Europe.
For Iskraemeco, this meeting has been instrumental in aligning our contributions to the Green AI pillar, particularly within the Energy Vertical, with the broader objectives of the ENFIELD project. It’s clear that the collective expertise and dedication within this consortium will drive real-world impact across industries such as energy, healthcare, and manufacturing.
“We look forward to building on the insights and connections from this assembly as we continue to push the boundaries of innovation and sustainability in AI development,” says Klemen Žbontar, Lead innovation engineer and Iskraemeco’s main project lead for Enfield.
