This strategic investment not only increases our production output, but also strengthens our global market presence and enables us to effectively meet the growing demand for our meters, particularly for the German market.
The new lines are intended for the production of various types of meters, including:
- MT631 (3Hz): The production of these meters started in April 2024 and since May 2024 we have been successfully producing and delivering the first meters from Egypt since May 2024. Following the successful introduction of a second calibration device, we have further increased production.
- MT681 and MT691 (eHz): In order to further expand our capacity, we have also started production of these two meter types in January.
The two new lines have led to an increase in production capacity:
- The additional capacity in Egypt enables us to significantly increase production volumes and meet rising demand.
- We have developed two new calibration devices for eHz and 3Hz meters. By using the new calibration devices, we have optimized the production process and achieved maximum production efficiency for all three meter types (MT681, MT691 and MT631).
During the implementation of the new capacities, we faced a number of challenges, such as ensuring sufficient manpower, timely material preparation, working with teams in remote locations and implementing our own software on foreign devices. Through a proactive approach and excellent collaboration between all teams involved, we successfully overcame these challenges.
The new production lines in Egypt have had a number of positive effects on our company. Primarily, they increase our production capacity and enable us to meet market demand more effectively. Importantly, the quality of our meters has been confirmed by independent audits by PTB, Lackmann and EON, underlining our commitment to high quality standards. Finally, the new production lines also contribute to the local community in Egypt by creating new jobs.
In addition to the existing production in Egypt, we continue to develop new products, including the new STS meter for the African market. We also plan to expand our product range to include water and gas meters. We at Iskraemeco are confident that our production facility in Egypt will continue to make an important contribution to our ongoing success and growth in 2025 and beyond.
