Sustainability is about meeting one’s own needs without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs, while ensuring a balance between economic growth, environmental protection and social well-being.
A company’s sustainable business strategy represents a logical path that leads to long-term benefits for society, the environment and the economy, while representing more than just the company’s business performance.
Sustainability reporting and data management are critical components of modern business practices, and we strive to demonstrate our commitment to environmental, social and governance (ESG) goals.
With the goal of educating and sharing practices, the Association for Information Technology and Telecommunications, one of the industry associations of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, organized an online seminar entitled Preparing for Sustainable Business Practices in Business. Lara Šarabon Štojs, Independent Sustainability specialist, presented Iskraemeco as an example of good practice at the seminar.
She pointed out that at Iskraemeco we are aware of our responsibilities and try to strive for a more sustainable future through our operational activities, our supply chain and our partnerships. Through the sum of all activities and improvements, we have managed to reduce our overall carbon footprint by 70% since 2013. In 2022, we were able to reduce our carbon footprint by 4% compared to 2021, reduce electricity consumption by 12%, and reduce heat consumption by 25%.
