The Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia was leading the organization of this year’s event, in partnership with the European Commission and Chatham House. The conference is a yearly gathering that seeks to enhance cooperation between Africa and Europe by fostering mutual understanding and promoting policy improvements.
This year’s conference, entitled “Climate Security for the Future: Global Challenges, Local Actions,” highlighted the need for cross-regional partnerships in addressing climate change. The conference was hosting a gathering of decision-makers, and experts from around the world to discuss the challenges posed by climate change and the opportunities available for addressing them. The participation of African countries in this conference is providing an avenue for Slovenia to strengthen and deepen its bilateral relations with them.
Climate change is one of the most significant global security threats today. Its effects are felt across the world, from existing conflicts to triggering more violence, displacements, and wars. Addressing this challenge requires robust international partnerships to analyze risks and take action towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and a more sustainable future. Climate security is a vital component of global stability and the well-being of communities worldwide.
The conference provided an excellent opportunity for inter-regional exchange and cooperation towards progress on climate security. The attendees, consisting of decision-makers and experts from Europe, Africa, and other parts of the world, have identified the challenges and discussed the steps needed to achieve a sustainable and climate secure future.
On the second day of the conference, the delegations also visited our company. We presented the company and our efforts in the field of efficient energy management to them, and they also saw our production.
