Through opening addresses by state officials, the ceremonial evening once again highlighted the importance of strategic foreign investments for Slovenia’s long-term economic growth and for the development of companies operating in an international environment.
Panel discussion: challenges and opportunities in global supply chains
The event was complemented by a panel discussion titled “Globally connected economy: challenges and opportunities for international companies,” moderated by Peter Frankl, Director and Editor-in-Chief of Finance. The discussion featured Niko Medved (Plastika Skaza), Leon Korošec (Elan), and Maks Prokop (Iskraemeco).
The speakers shed light on key challenges faced by companies embedded in global supply chains, as well as on the opportunities created by combining local knowledge, innovation, and international capital. They emphasized that this mix is a crucial foundation for building long-term competitiveness. The discussion also underscored the role of Slovenian expertise within global corporations. The panelists noted that Slovenian employees are recognized as committed, innovative, and adaptable qualities that significantly contribute to the success of companies operating within international groups.
For Iskraemeco, participation in such a national event is an important signal of broader recognition of our work and development direction. It also confirms that companies that successfully connect local professional expertise with global opportunities remain among the key drivers of Slovenia’s economic progress.
Maks Prokop, Executive board member and Global director for legal and compliance of Iskraemeco, also highlighted the broader significance of such awards for companies: “The FDI Award event visibly demonstrates how important foreign investments are for Slovenia’s growth and international recognition, while also showcasing companies that create real economic impact through their work and development. Such recognitions not only bring greater international visibility, but also strengthen the identity and reputation of a brand as a trusted, successful, and development-oriented partner. For employees, they are a clear signal that they are part of a story we can be proud of—and that pride and momentum translate directly into the company’s continued success.”
