From roll-out to real value: what defined the Greece Roadshow 2026
At a time when smart metering rollouts are moving from implementation to scale, the question is no longer whether data will be available, but how to turn it into something meaningful.

This was the starting point for the Iskraemeco Greece Roadshow 2026, where partners, experts, and utilities came together in Athens to share updates, exchange perspectives, and step back from day‑to‑day project work to reflect on what really works in practice.
Learning through real project experience
The roadshow took place in the context of the first phase of the smart metering roll‑out in Greece, where HEDNO is leading one of the most ambitious smart metering programs in Europe. This added an important layer to the discussions, grounding conversations not only in concepts, but in real project experience. This added an important layer to the discussions. Rather than focusing only on concepts, the conversations were grounded in real project experience.
Within this project reality, one recurring question stood out across discussions: how to generate value from the large volumes of data collected through smart metering initiatives. The focus is clearly shifting. While the rollout itself remains a major effort, attention is increasingly moving toward performance, efficiency, and the ability to use data in everyday operations and decision‑making.
Participants showed strong interest in how solutions can bridge this gap: from metering and data collection toward analytics and real operational use. Topics such as water metering and the evolving portfolio also sparked discussion, reflecting broader utility needs.
From rollout to next phase
As the rollout continues, the focus shifts to scaling execution and improving performance based on real operational experience. At the same time to deliver results, the priority moves from rollout to value generation, combining metering infrastructure, data-driven platforms and strong partnerships.
