Independent Development Engineer – Embedded Systems Testing (m/f)

Location: Kranj, Slovenia

What are the tasks?

Independently plan, prepare, and execute firmware (FW) and/or hardware (HW) testing across all stages of the product development lifecycle
Develop, adapt, execute, and automate development tests, including analysis of test results
Analyze, diagnose, and reproduce FW/HW defects and collaborate with development teams to resolve issues
Manage testing activities (test plans, scenarios, and test cases) and the defect lifecycle in Azure DevOps
Participate in self-organized, agile, cross-functional teams
Actively collaborate with development teams (FW/HW/SW) on product improvements
Prepare test samples for internal and external laboratory testing
Improve or propose new testing approaches, tools, and processes
Share knowledge and mentor less experienced colleagues
Ensure compliance with internal standards and quality best practices

We are looking for the following competencies:

Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent, Level VI/2) in a technical field
3–5 years of experience in embedded systems testing or development
Proficiency in English (spoken and written)
Programming knowledge in Python and/or C#
High level of independence in task execution and decision-making
Systematic and structured approach to testing and quality assurance
Ability to work in a cross-functional team

Preferred Skills and Experience

Measurement technology (measurement, calibration, electrical quantities)
Experience with FW and/or HW test automation
Experience in FW/HW defect analysis using diagnostic tools
Wireless communication (LTE-M, NB-IoT, M-Bus, etc.)
Wired communication (Ethernet, RS-485, M-Bus, etc.)
Git/TFVC tools for managing test-related source code in embedded systems
G3-PLC and/or G3-Hybrid technology (Power Line Communication)
